What will save our world?

What will save our world?
(Based on the teachings of Guruji Krishnananda)
“Who or what will save the world?” Someone asked this very interesting question.
Divine LoveThe one-word answer to this question is,LoveIt is love that saves the world.
What is the source of this love?
Us. It has to come from us. So, it is WE who can save the world. Of course, God helps when we manifest love. But the main players are us, the citizens of this world.
Incidentally, I saw in the newspaper, a photo of a blind man struggling to open a tap to drink water. Also in the photo was a monkey helping the blind man open the tap!
That was very touching. There is so much of love in the Universe. If we all could have the love that the monkey had, that would be enough. There will be absolutely no destruction and no suffering on this earth.
Sadly, we do not carry such love. Instead, we generally carry a lot of non-love, which is why we attract so much of pain. People’s collective non-love can cause great destruction.
Some individuals do carry a lot of love but that is not enough to balance all the non-love on this earth. If there were enough love in this world, there would be no wars, no terrorism and no need for the military.
That is the challenge; to carry love always and to consciously manifest love in every thought, in every emotion and in every act. In addition to this, we must hunt for every trace of non-love within us and remove it. If we try it, we realise that it is not very difficult.
Being spiritual is not about having powers. It is being good, honest and manifesting genuine love for the fellow human being and nature.
The Universe is waiting for us to return to our original state of goodness. Such goodness will save the world.

A Touching Experience

A Touching Experience
(Based on the teachings of Guruji Krishnananda)
A lady took a taxi to come to Taponagara. The taxi driver told her that the place is very far and asked for quite a large amount of money. After travelling a short distance, she realised that the place was quite nearby, and that the taxi driver had taken her for a ‘ride’.
She told him that he was overcharging her, but he did not relent. They had an argument and he was very tough with her. She then told him in a very gentle way, “What you are doing is not good. If you had asked for more money, I would have given it to you with great love.”
When she arrived, she paid him what he had asked for, and the taxi went away.
After about 30 minutes, the taxi driver came back and returned the excess money he had charged. Overwhelmed, she thanked him and asked him to keep the money. He said, “How can I take it?” and left.
What made him do this?
We must understand that the Divine Essence is in everyone, which we call Conscience. This Divine Essence in him got stirred somehow.
Conscience works in everyone but most people suppress it. Conscience always works and shows us the right way but most don’t listen to it maybe because of the stress of living in this competitive world.
The taxi driver’s conscience must have been telling him right from the beginning that what he was doing was wrong. He was a good man and he finally responded to it.
We usually presume that people are bad; we should not do it. Everyone is good at the core. They only need to listen to their conscience and follow it.

Education and Spirituality

Education and Spirituality – Based on the teachings of Guruji Krishnananda

I have come across this question many times: “Why do educated people commit wrongful acts?” or “Why do educated people behave badly?”
The simple answer is, they commit wrongful acts because they are not educated spiritually.
This makes all the difference. The formal education is not enough because it does not teach or emphasise much on spirituality.
One must know what is right and what is wrong. This is possible even if one is not educated because everyone has conscience.
Our conscience always guides us properly. If we listen to it and follow its advice, we will choose only the right things.
The conscience guides us in every situation and alerts us about the mistake we are about to commit, but somehow we completely ignore it.
When people commit wrongful acts, they usually say, “I didn’t realise I was making a mistake” or “Someone influenced me”, etc. All this could be true, but we are always aware that this is a wrong thing because our conscience would be telling us about it.
We may fail to listen to our conscience, but it never fails us because, conscience is the voice of God Himself.
Understanding some simple truths behind our birth and death, reincarnation, the value of goodness and honesty and the fact that what we give will come back to us, help us avoid committing wrongful acts and not formal education.
